eBay - Last Minute Bids
How You Lose to Last-Minute Bids on eBay
eBay is easily the most popular auction site on the web. Participating in an eBay auction can be fun sometimes but more often than not it’s actually quite frustrating.
First, you want to get the best possible deal but it just so happens that some annoying beginnners always want to place bids early in the game. Sometimes this leads to a bidding war so that the item becomes ridiculously overpriced long before the auction is finished. Of course, if everybody just waited until shortly before the end of the auction to place their bids, the winning bid, perhaps your bid, would not have to be as high. You could get a way better deal.
Second, let’s say you want some item really bad. So you place a high bid for it and watch the auction closely to make sure nobody else outbids you. It looks like you got the winning bid but somehow someone manages to place a higher bid the very last second. Since it’s a last-second bid, it’s too late for you to raise your bid and you lose.
How to Win Last-Minute Bids on Ebay
There’s always going to be some impatient idiots, so there’s not much you can do about the first problem. There is a way, though, to increase your chances of placing a winning bid. It’s called sniping, and it basically involves using a computer to submit a bid on your behalf. In fact, if you’ve ever been beaten by someone submitting a miraculous last-second bid, chances are it’s because the other person was using a sniping service. It’s a widespread practice among experienced eBay bidders. Do a google search and you’ll find many sniping services, most of which offer free trials.
