Cheap High-Speed Cable Internet
Cable internet is usually offered by the same companies that provide Cable TV in your area, but Cable TV is not required to get Cable Internet. Each service is separate.
1.) Time Warner Cable
Get up to $125 cash back. You get $50 cash back when you sign up for Digital Cable TV, $50 cash back for Cable Internet, and $25 cash back for Digital Phone.
Time Warner High Speed Internet
You can sign up for all three services, two of the services, or just one. If you sign up for Cable Internet only, you pay just $29.99 per month for 6 months and get $50 cash back. A modem and wireless router is included free of charge as well. Time Warner Cable Internet is provided through Road Runner.
2.) Charter Cable
Similar to Time Warner deal. Get up to $150 cash back. You get $50 cash back when you sign up for Digital Cable TV, $50 cash back for Cable Internet, and $50 cash back for Digital Phone.
If you sign up for the Cable Internet by itself, you pay $19.99 per month for 6 months and you get $50 cash back. Free cable modem and wireless router included. Pretty sweet deal.
Cheap High-Speed DSL Internet
DSL is usually provided by your local phone company. A landline is required. Note that DSL is generally slower than Cable, though still much faster than an old-fashioned dial-up connection.
3.) Verizon DSL
Only $12.99 per month for six months. Plus, get the first month free. Modem included.
4.) AT&T DSL
Among major DSL providers, AT&T consistently offers some of the lowest rates, with prices starting around $15 per month.
If you qualify, you may be able to get DSL service for as little as $10 per month. Note that a one-year contract is required and the offer is good for basic, low-speed DSL service.
More recently, AT&T has started to offer ‘naked’ DSL service, meaning you don’t have to sign up for local phone service. The offer is $19.99 per month when you sign up for a 1-year contract.
