You might have seen commercials for this credit card on TV. The Chase Freedom SM Visa credit card is one of the most popular credit cards out there.
Right now, Chase is offering a $50 cash bonus with this card. The cash bonus will be available to you after your first purchase.
In my opinion, the card is well worth it even without the bonus. The reason why the card is so popular is because of its excellent rewards program.
Whenever you use your credit card to make a purchase, you earn rewards. You can earn either cash back or points. It’s called Freedom because you can switch back and forth between earning points and cash back any time you want without losing any rewards.
The rewards program is one of the most generous out there. You earn 3% cash back (or triple points) whenever you use your credit card to make purchases in any of three categories that you get to choose yourself in advance. There are over 15 categories. I picked gas, groceries, and fast food but depending on your personal circumstances, you may decide to choose other categories. You earn 1% cash back on everything else.
If you choose to earn points, you can redeem them for gift certificates, electronics, plane tickets, and other items offered by Chase partners often at a discount. If you choose to earn cash, you will instead receive a check in the mail. Simple as that.
Another reason why you should consider this card is the fact that it does not come with an annual fee. There are a lot of rewards programs out there that require their cardholders to pay annual fees. This one doesn’t.
